EXPERIENCE: Develop the town centre experience

To create a sense of ‘place’ for visitors and people working in the town centre to enjoy

The BID has worked with partners to improve the look of our town and make our town a safer place to be. Some of the projects the BID has been involved in have included:

  • New itter bins and Town Centre clean ups by businesses
  • Window vinyls and window cleaning of vacant stores
  • Pop up shops and business support for new businesses opening in the town centre .

All improving the look of our town.

  • Tackling Business Crime workshops
  • Christmas Street Wardens to support evening activity

All making our town a safer place to be.

And of course, our two Town Centre Hosts – Kimberley Herbert and Bailey Earl - have been recruited by the BID to act as a first point of call for town centre businesses and visitors. They are on hand to liaise with the businesses, to provide information and support to shoppers, and to help the BID achieve its overall business plan objectives, which include ensuring we have a cleaner, safer and more secure town centre.

Creating and supporting a vibrant programme of events throughout the year to include. In 2019 we are focusing on shoe heritage.
